advantages of image combining : VC & C8, 26mm
Plossl eyepiece projection oculaire giving 10m FL.
1) 1 Saturn image selected from .avi file 2) Processing of this image : unsharp mask in PSP5 (parameters: 2/500) & HSL correction (0/-32/29) 3) 9 Saturn images selected from .avi & combined with PAP AVI. Not much difference ! 4) Same processing as (2). Now the gain is obvious ! SN ratio is much increased ! |

comparison between VC & Pro behind a C8 (with slight unsharp mask) ... It seems that for Saturn an aperture of 250-300mm is needed for the Pro for good performances. | S. Weiller
Saturn, 1999 10 07, 0H59 UT. Very damp and cold (5°C). SCT 8" 3x Barlow (FD=30). Qcam VC camera (optics removed) in .avi mode (320x240), each exposure about 1 sec and capture of one image per sec. Unsharp mask (2/200) in PSP5 on images of a crude selection. New selection of 30 images. Combining with MaximDL. New unsharp mask in PSP5 (3/400). | S. Weiller
