to the extreme sensitivity of the CCD sensor, you
must protect it from static electricity. You 'll have

your hand to something linked to the mass before each
handling of the
CCD sensor in a
simpler way.

There is a
small stuck paper on the QuickCam box, and it covers
a small hole. .

Pull out the
stuck paper and insert a unfolded paper clip in the
small hole while lightly pushing on the fixing clip.
This handling is the most difficult, as one risks to
break the clip if pushing too strong..

One can now
open the camera with a small screwdriver to remove
the two others clips.

Once the is
opened, one can get out the printed circuit, with
always avoiding touching the electronic circuits.

Remove the two
optical part's screws, and pull out the optical block
with great care
|

Now, one can
see the CCD sensor. Avoid touching the sensors'
surface or blowing on it to remove small particles of
dust.

Put back
the printed circuit in its housing. Don't forget to
reinsert the black frame and metallic support
for camera tripod.

Close the top
while pressing clips. The first step is over.
